Need Financial Help?

These days a university education requires a substantial financial commitment. After reviewing your education related expenses, you may find that you need additional funds to pursue your education. If that is the case, you may be eligible for financial assistance. The Student Awards & Financial Aid office coordinates various programs for Waterloo students with financial needs. These include government and University of Waterloo financial aid programs - some of which are non-repayable.

Canadian Senior Citizens Bursaries

A bursary, equivalent to the tuition fee, is available for eligible senior citizens. To be eligible you must be a Canadian citizen and 65 years of age by: November 1 for the fall term; January 1 for the winter term; May 1 for the spring term. To claim this bursary, you must submit proof of age (e.g., photocopy of your birth certificate) along with a signed promissory note to the Finance Office, on or before the due dates. Seniors are responsible for all other fees associated with the course.

Student Awards & Financial Aid administers numerous undergraduate scholarships and awards, which are based on academic achievement and may include other selection criteria such as extracurricular involvement, leadership, etc.
